After completing my Portfolio Project, I realized how much I enjoyed it and all the things I took away from it. From pre-production to production, to editing, and creating my CCR, I realized how important long-term projects are.
I got to understand the true meaning of time management and what it means to keep up with a schedule. Making and following the schedule I made was very helpful and I am glad I was able to use it as a guide. I had never worked on such a long project before and it truly made me understand all the work that needs to be put in and how important it is to care for the time given.
A prominent key moment for me was definitely getting to work on my craft. I was able to combine both of my favorite things: acting and filming. I was able to come up with a piece that I am proud of and a piece that challenged me in ways that have helped me grow into a better actor and filmmaker. I got to learn more about myself by connecting in deeper with my emotions to try and understand my protagonist and tell his story.
This project opened up a new eye to me and helped me see how filmmaking is just telling stories of things we already know and how to create them into something beautiful and meaningful.
