CCR Creation

     For my CCR, I also had to change my original idea. At first, I had planned to do a Vogue-style, "73 Questions with Vogue". However, when I was starting to plan it, I realized that it was gonna be really difficult for me to film it all in one shot, and come up with 73 questions that will cover only two questions of my CCR.

    Therefore, I came up with another idea. I decided to do a "time capsule" style video, in which I pretend to have made a video way before my film "premieres". I reflect on how everything went so I can look back on it once the film has premiered and take a look at the "secret archives". I made it seem like I was filming it on an old camera and viewers can only see it once "Playing with Fires" has been released.

    Furthermore, I had no idea what I was going to do for my second media product idea, but after a lot of thinking... I figured it out. I decided that I was going to make a presentation with a voice-over of me explaining my genre conventions, target audience, representation, distribution plans, etc.

    It ended up turning really well, and it worked for my second media product, which I was struggling to come up with.

Changes Made

 Initially, I had planned to film at a friend's house who has a more rustic-looking home and was furnished with lots of wood. Unfortunately, she just moved houses and I could not film in that location anymore.

I had to resort to my own home and make it work. I played around with color correction to still keep the warm tone lighting that I wanted for my opening and tried to remain on the main wooden table that I had.

During editing, I was able to work with some effects and work around my issue of having to switch locations and have it not look like what I had initially planned.

Costuming

     I have come up with ideas for the costuming of my protagonist. While brainstorming, I decided I wanted him to look messy and not put together. I want him to wear oversized clothing and many hoodies to match the idea that he is going through a tough time.

Inspo:

This style of clothing indicates that the protagonist is not putting in the time to dress and doesn't care about his appearance or his well-being.

Character Development

     So I finally decided on a name for my protagonist... For my protagonist, I chose the name, Eli. I wanted the name to be very simple and not so common. For such a prominent and impactful character, I wanted the name to be something that was easy to remember and unique to the ear.

    Additionally, I also decided that I would be acting in the role of Eli. I really enjoy the art of acting and love to challenge myself with dramatic roles. I want to really dig into my character's emotions and feel what he would be feeling. By stepping into my character's shoes, I'll be able to further develop my story and portray the emotions that I want my viewers to feel. Making it more authentic and connected to my audience.

    Acting is something that I love doing, therefore I want to take on this role and really bring it to life. I know exactly what I want the vision for my protagonist to be like, therefore I understand how to obtain his emotions and release them through my craft.

Location Scouting

 For the location of my film opening, I want a warm-toned, darkened room for my first scene. I am looking for wood furniture, windows with blinds, and low lighting.

inspiration:

I found a location where I could achieve this look. My friend Gabbi Bongiovi's house has the specific type of vibe that I am looking for and I can ask her if she will let me film at her house :)

The second scene of my film opening takes place in a classroom and a school setting. I want to use my instructor's classroom, and the hallway right across from it to film this scene. The elongated hallway is exactly what I am looking for in order to show a crowded hallway.

CCR Lesson/Ideas

     Last class we learned more about the CCR, we watched some examples, and got to know more about this section of the project. The CCR is definitely not something I want to leave last minute since it is a huge reflection process after completing the film opening. Reflecting on your work is very beneficial for upcoming projects and overall helps on how to improve later on.

    Since the lesson, I've been thinking of ideas on how to create my CCR. I want it to be creative and entertaining. Therefore, I was inspired by one of the examples shown in class, and I think I want to create a "73 Questions with Vogue" inspired CCR for one of my mediums.

    For my second medium, I was thinking of doing a presentation since I love to play around with graphic designs. This idea is not entirely thought out yet so I don't know if I will end up doing this, but it is something I have in mind.

    I can't wait to start working on my CCR, so I will take pictures and document my behind-the-scenes while filming so I can include it in my CCR ;)

Revised Schedule

 Earlier this week, I met up with Ms. Stoklosa and we discussed my film opening and she gave me some feedback. She really liked my story and could tell that I had it well developed, and she also told me that she was excited to see the end result.

However, when we were talking about the editing skills I wanted to imply, like sound mixing and layering, she told me that I was gonna need a lot of time in order to edit that. I told her I gave myself 3 days to edit but she still suggested that I should give myself some more time that way I can really get it all done right.

Therefore, I revised my filming schedule:

* March 22nd-25th: film (3 days instead of 5)

* March 26th-30th: edit (5 days instead of 3)

* March 31st and April 1st: revisions

* April 3rd - submit final project

Completed Storyboard

 Today I completed my storyboard, meaning that I am following up with my schedule and I am on track.

    Next, I will be creating a shots list and get closer and closer to having everything finalized for when I want to start filming ;)

Critical Reflection!

In the world of storytelling through film, the power of expression often lies in unconventional narratives that challenge established norms....
